This policy explains, in plain English, what information we collect through this website and our consulting work, why we collect it, who receives it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website and to the business services we provide to U.S. businesses.
Reading or accepting this Privacy Policy is not consent to unrelated marketing. We ask separately before adding you to marketing email or text messaging, and you can opt out at any time.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Name, email address, phone number, and mailing address
- Business name and business details you choose to share, such as industry, location, current processor, and approximate monthly card volume
- Merchant processing statements you upload for analysis (PDF, JPG, or PNG), including the file name, size, type, and any information contained inside the file — which may include your business name and address, processing volumes, fees, deposit totals, and partially masked account references
- Messages, questions, and other communications you send us by form, email, phone, or text
- Appointment information you enter when you book time with us through our scheduling provider
We do not ask for Social Security numbers, full payment card numbers, or bank account numbers through this website. Please remove or redact any information you do not want to share before uploading a file.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser information, such as browser type, operating system, and screen size
- IP address and the approximate location (such as city or region) that can be derived from it
- Referral source, pages viewed, links clicked, and general usage information
- Server, security, and error logs — including the page you were on, the referring page, your browser user agent, and error details — recorded by us and by our hosting and backend providers
- Information stored on your device by our website, described in the cookies section below
Where information comes from
- Directly from you, through our forms, uploads, email, phone, text, and scheduled calls
- Automatically from your device when you use this website
- From our service providers and integrations, such as our hosting, database, storage, email delivery, and scheduling providers
- From referral or business partners, where applicable — for example, when a processor, equipment provider, or existing client refers you to us and shares your contact details
Why We Collect and Use Information
We use information for these specific business purposes:
- Reviewing your merchant statement and preparing a rate or cost comparison
- Responding to your questions and providing consulting recommendations on platforms, hardware, and pricing
- Scheduling and conducting calls, meetings, and follow-up communications
- Introducing you to processors, ISOs, equipment providers, or funding partners when you ask us to
- Sending service and transactional messages, including confirmation of a form you submitted
- Sending marketing or promotional messages where you have opted in or where otherwise permitted by law, subject to your right to opt out
- Operating, maintaining, securing, and improving our website, including rate limiting and abuse prevention
- Detecting and preventing fraud, misuse, and security incidents
- Keeping business records and complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements
Who Receives Information
We disclose information only for the purposes above, and only to these categories of recipients:
- Website hosting, database, and file-storage providers: The platform that hosts this website and the managed backend that stores form submissions and uploaded statement files.
- Email delivery provider: Form submissions and upload notifications are delivered to our team by email through a third-party transactional email provider, and that provider also sends your confirmation email.
- CRM and scheduling provider: We use a customer relationship management and scheduling tool to manage inquiries and appointments. Our "book a meeting" links open that provider's own scheduling page, and anything you enter there is collected by that provider under its own privacy policy.
- Font and asset delivery: Our pages load web fonts from a third-party font service, which receives your IP address and browser information as a normal part of serving those files.
- Phone, text, and other communication tools: The providers we use to call, text, and email you.
- Payment processors, acquiring banks, ISOs, equipment providers, and underwriting partners: When you ask us to price, quote, or set up an account, we share the information needed to do that, including business details and statement information.
- Business-funding partners: Only when you specifically request or authorize a funding introduction or apply through a partner link.
- Professional advisers and government authorities: Our accountants, attorneys, insurers, and auditors, and regulators or law enforcement when we are legally required to respond.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
- Anyone you direct: Recipients you ask us to share with, or share with at your direction.
We do not currently operate a third-party website analytics platform, advertising pixel, or cross-context behavioral advertising tag on this website. Because of that, we do not believe our current website activity constitutes "sharing" for targeted advertising under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. If we add an analytics or advertising technology that tracks activity across other websites, we will update this policy and the disclosure below before or when it becomes active.
We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information
JustPayments does not sell personal information for money. We do not rent or trade contact lists or uploaded merchant statements. Some of our outbound links are partner or affiliate links, meaning we may earn compensation if you sign up with a provider after clicking. Those links do not transmit your personal information to the partner unless you choose to enter it on the partner's own website.
Do Not Track and Third-Party Tracking
Some web browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. Because there is no universally accepted standard for responding to traditional Do Not Track signals, our website may not respond to those signals. Third-party analytics or advertising providers may collect information about online activity over time and across different websites when their technologies are enabled. Users can manage applicable cookies and tracking technologies through our Your Privacy Choices control.
Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies
This website does not run advertising cookies. It stores a small amount of information on your own device so the site works the way you expect:
- Your language preference (English or Spanish), so the site stays in the language you chose
- Your accessibility settings, such as larger text or reduced motion
- A random, temporary session identifier used only to rate-limit statement uploads and prevent abuse. It is not tied to your identity and is cleared when you close the browser tab
- A sign-in token, only if you log into an administrative area of the site, and a short-lived note of a message you started on another page so a contact form can be pre-filled
You can clear or block this storage through your browser settings at any time. Doing so may reset your language and accessibility preferences.
Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, state privacy law may give you the rights below. We are not necessarily subject to every state comprehensive privacy statute, but we honor these requests where legally required and generally try to honor them for any U.S. resident who asks:
- Access: Ask what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
- Correction: Ask us to fix information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Deletion: Ask us to delete your information, including an uploaded statement, subject to legal and operational exceptions.
- Portable copy: Ask for a copy of the information you gave us in a commonly used, portable format.
- Opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising: We do not sell personal information and do not currently run targeted advertising technology on this site. You may still submit an opt-out request, and we will record it so it applies if that ever changes.
- Opt out of marketing: Unsubscribe from any marketing email, reply STOP to a text message, or ask us to stop calling. Service messages about a request you submitted may still be sent.
- Authorized agent: You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, and we may ask for verification of that authority.
How to make a request
Email Sales@JustPayments.io with the subject line "Privacy Request," or call (619) 257-3096. Tell us what you would like us to do and include enough information for us to find your records, such as the email address, phone number, or business name you used. We will ask you to verify your identity before acting on access, correction, deletion, or portability requests, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
No discrimination
We will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising a legally protected privacy right. We will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a lower quality of service because you made a privacy request.
How Long We Keep Information
- Merchant statements and uploaded files: Merchant statements are generally deleted within 90 days after completion of the requested analysis unless they are reasonably needed for merchant onboarding, servicing an active relationship, fraud prevention, legal compliance, recordkeeping, or dispute resolution. Users may request earlier deletion, subject to applicable legal and operational exceptions. Statements associated with incomplete or abandoned analysis requests are generally deleted within 120 days after upload unless an applicable retention exception exists.
- Inquiry and lead information: Kept while we are in contact with you and afterward for a reasonable period for follow-up and business records, unless you ask us to delete it.
- Client relationship records: Kept for the length of the relationship and afterward as needed for tax, accounting, contractual, and legal recordkeeping.
- Email and message history: Kept in our email and CRM systems according to our normal business retention practices.
- Server, security, and error logs: Kept for a limited period by our hosting and backend providers for troubleshooting and security.
Deleted information may remain temporarily in restricted backup systems until those backups are overwritten or expire under our backup-retention schedule.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These measures may include encrypted transmission, access restrictions, authentication controls, and security features provided by our service providers. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
In practice, this website is served over HTTPS, uploaded statement files are stored in a non-public storage location, and access to submissions is restricted to authorized administrative accounts. Please do not send sensitive information such as full card numbers or Social Security numbers to us by email or text.
Third-Party Websites and Partner Links
Our website links to third-party websites, including our scheduling tool, processor sign-up pages, and funding partner applications. Once you leave our site, the third party's own privacy policy and terms govern the information you provide there. We are not responsible for their practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.
Children's Privacy
Our services are directed to businesses and are not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If a change is material — for example, if we add website analytics or advertising technology, or begin using information for a new, unrelated purpose — we will highlight it on this page and, where legally required or otherwise appropriate, notify you by email before the change takes effect for information we already hold.
